			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Keuka College is seeking a Human Resource Assistant.  This individual will be responsible for coordinating the HR function for ASAP adjuncts and full time instructors including the new hire/orientation process, scheduling, evaluation process and additional items as needed. This may be expanded to the scheduling of international adjuncts/faculty as these programs grow. Other responsibilities include supporting the Assistant Manager of Human Resources (CPS) with other day-to-day personnel/human resource related activities including HR paperwork, training, performance reviews, data tracking and collection, and personnel changes in relation to the employees of the CPS Division. This is a full time, 40 hr/wk, benefit eligible position.</p>
<p><strong> Specific Duties</strong></p>
<p><strong>Adjunct Applicant Process</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Responsible for receiving, forwarding, recording, and archiving all application materials for potential adjunct instructors.<strong> </strong></li>
<li>Coordinates the candidate selection process with program areas including communicating with candidates as to the status of their application.  Responsible for communicating with candidates the outcome of the selection process and any related documentation.<strong> </strong></li>
<li>Works with the program areas and Assistant Manager of Human Resources to identify instructor needs in each geographical location and ensures a sufficient pool of instructors for each subject matter/course taught at those locations.<strong> </strong></li>
<li>May be asked to coordinate and attend job fairs to help in the recruitment of instructors.<strong> </strong></li>
</ul>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>New Hire Process:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ensures that the appropriate new employee paperwork is completed prior to the new instructor’s start date (including the I-9 Form and background checking forms).</li>
<li>Records and monitors all instructor approval notices, entering instructor information and updating files as needed.</li>
<li>Submits background check paperwork once first teaching assignment has been offered but before instructor receives the contract.</li>
<li>Tracks new instructor participation in orientation and the various stages throughout the orientation process.</li>
<li>Works with program areas to ensure timeliness of paperwork regarding new hires and accurate record keeping.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Scheduling, Personnel Action Forms and Contracts:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Using specific software, identifies scheduling needs and offers teaching assignments for the various courses offered in all program areas. Will require communicating with instructors regarding availability and monitoring instructor course loads.</li>
<li>Generates the Personnel Action Form (PAF), for signature by the appropriate parties.</li>
<li>Initiates and tracks the instructor contract process, including making sure the originals and copies make it to the appropriate offices.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Instructor Evaluation Process</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Responsible for processing and tracking the Student Evaluations of Instruction (SEI).<strong> </strong></li>
<li>Sends appropriate e mail notifications to instructors needing to complete Self-Evaluation Forms, tracks receipt of these forms and forwards them on to the appropriate program area.<strong> </strong></li>
<li>Responsible for working with program areas to track the peer evaluation process and ensure paperwork is being completed in a timely manner.<strong> </strong></li>
</ul>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Other:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Additional items as needed such as</li>
<li>Forwards recommendations for disciplinary action related to instructor non-compliance with HR policy and procedure.</li>
<li>May be asked to periodically attend HR training seminars or other programs to maintain current knowledge of HR related laws and regulations.</li>
<li>Assisting with the coordination of Instructor Workshops and the       tracking of attendance at workshops.</li>
<li>Assisting with the tracking of other performance issues such as the       receipt of final papers from instructors, grades, etc.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline"> </span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Qualifications</span></strong>:</p>
<ol>
<li>Associates Degree required or 3+ years of related HR experience required. Human Resources background preferred; Experience in the college setting preferred.</li>
<li>Computer experience required. Ability to master the Microsoft Office programs.</li>
<li>Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, as well as good interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Excellent time management, attention to detail, accuracy and prioritization skills.</li>
<li>Excellent planning, organizational and follow-through skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.</li>
<li>Maintain high level of confidentiality for sensitive information.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Working Conditions</span></strong>:</p>
<p>Some performance of job duties may require travel to branch campus locations, main campus meetings/events, and group orientation sessions. Some evening hours and occasional weekends. Lifting up to 50lbs.</p>

<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in related field.</li>
<li>Possession of an appropriate and valid certification issued by either the:
<ul>
<li>National Association of the deaf (NAD) (Level 4/5)</li>
<li>National Registry of Interpreters for the deaf (RID) (CI&amp;AT)</li>
<li>NAD-RID National Interpreter Certification (NIC) (Advanced/Master)</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Code of ethics for the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively to the deaf and hearing impaired using American Sign Language.</li>
<li>Higher education experience preferred including knowledge of the deaf culture and the issues faced by college students who are deaf and hard of hearing.</li>
</ul>
